A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
Counselling is a place where you can finally let go, heal damage and loss, remove barriers, break patterns and create new freeing thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Therapy is about making genuine change in your life. A process to build a better understanding of yourself, increase emotional management, resilience, raise self-esteem and self-acceptance. Helping you connect more deeply to form fulfilling relationships and healthy boundaries.
As an integrative person-centred based counsellor, I nurture a supportive, empathetic and empowering space for you to be heard and valued. Where you can genuinely express who you are, what you have been going through and to discover and create the right solutions for yourself. I can use a combination of other techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to challenge unhelpful beliefs and perceptions. This has been recognised as an effective treatment for depression and anxiety.
Or Psychodynamics to explore, process and recover from the impact of past emotional experiences. Though Some of these techniques, like Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) are less emotionally exploratory and more practically based which is a better fit for some clients. I also focus on patterns of interaction, as well as looking at finding closure and acceptance.
